Just out of interest does anyone have any cool CGI's that can be used at Freeola?

Can anyone give me an idiots guide to setting up a cgi script on freeola, I have tried loads of different scripts but none work for me. What is throwing me the most is the cgi-shl thing, I only have a cgi-bin (maybe I'm stupid but shl and bin are two different things in my book).
I asked freeola support but they just said place script in cgi-shl but not where or how that is done and then I asked them in plainer English but no reply as yet.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I am using logitpro www.logitpro.com. This does not require you to display an image on your site and it's free.

This got me confused too. The scripts have to go in /cgi-shl, which is deliberately located outside your webroot for security. That folder is automatically mapped to /htdocs/cgi-bin so your webpages need to refer to it there.

Has anyone found a cgi script to create a visitor counter on their website. I have tried several and cannot get any to work (I have not been using SSI scripts). An exact url of where I can find the script would be greatly appreciated.

The directory on your site is called cgi-shl, when you call the script from your page use cgi-bin/mysriptypoo.cgi If that still doesn't work go to freeperlcode.com and down load the small script that just prints hello world. If you can get that to work then you know your sr number is working for cgi. If so you'll have to start looking at the script for your form.

Use the cgi-bin directory in your scripts not cgi-shl. Also use the .cgi extension.
