Toe Jam & Earl: true classic.
ESWAT - much underrated 2D platformer in the vein of (and preceding, I think) Super Metroid.
Interestingly enough (or not as the case may be), Future Sound Of London seem to have completely ripped off the music from Toe Jam and Earl on one of the B-sides on one of the CDs singles of We Have Explosive (as used on Wipeout 2097 (arrghh - too many confusing references)). I spose that I'm the only one to have noticed that in the world?
