I know that he wanted to see who'd be in charge next-season, and know he knows Fergie will still be there. I recall reading something in which Beckham expressed his delight in Fergie's descision, so he's obviously happy to stay at United. So, he knows who will be incharge next-season, and he's therefore happy to stay, but why still hasn't he signed yet???
Apparently, he's been offered around £70/80,000 per week, basic! That just about matches Sol Campbell, making him the joint highest-paid player in the Premiership and top at United. He'll be on even more than Veron and van Nistelrooy, if he accepts!! So why the delay now then, anyone would be mad not to sign for that much??? Even Victoria would be happy!
Or is that the problem there, his wife, Victoria Beckham. We've all about how she 'supposedly' wears the trousers in the Beckham household, and how she wants to either back down to London, or fly off to Spain or Italy to live. Could this be effecting Beckahm's descision???
After all, it's not un-common for the footballers' wives to influence a big descision in their career, look at the likes of Zidane. His wife stopped him joining United as she said she's happier living in the nice weather, and doesn't want to be in the rain by a polluted river! So could the same thing be going on with the Beckhams???
If so, then David needs to stand up for himself and do what he wants to do! He needs to give Posh her skirt back and put on his trousers! We all know how much he loves United, since he was a boy and moved up from London just to sign for them! Why on Earth would he leave?? She must be happy with the money now, and can finally give up her career in that awfull 'pop/dance music'! So it could just be where she wants to live that effect David's descision.
Lets all hope that England's captain and the set-piece supremo does what's right and signs this new deal!!
Hopefully Bekcham will do the same soon, and hopefully for longer! But his deal will definitley be worth more than Keane's, which probably is already worth quite a bit!!
Because he can't write.
If an investor in a company makes a fortune, the company get the profit, not him.
If a programmer writes some revolutionary software as part of a project for a company, they own it, not him.
If a footballer becomes famous because of his performance and regular appearance for a club, they should get the rights, not him.
Latest I heard, Beckham was being restricted to one hairstyle per season, so Utd do not lose money for posters, figures, and other Beckham merchandise becoming 'out of date' when he changes his hairstyle.
Now that Beckham knows who the gaffer will be next-season, he should be able to come to an agreement with United, after he realises that he's a footballer and not a model or hair-care advertiser!
United probably don't own any part of it, as they should only have the player currently under contract, not his image, as the contract was signed long before these new rights were brought up. But surely Beckham isn't too worried about his image?? Well, he does get called dumb and stuff, and critisized for how Victoria controls him, so maybe he does??
But still, as a mode-proffesional and England captain, he shouldn't be bothered about his image, and should be more focused on his football, just like almost any other proffesional!
It's his image rights that they haven't agreed on. The David Beckham name is worth an awful lot, and he thinks, as it's his, he has the rights to it. United think, as they put him where he is, that they own a chunk of it.
