Meh, woke up early for some reason, I'll do a list as far as my half awake status lets me. ;-)

Out Now...

Mech Assault
Moto GP
Whacked!
Unreal Championship
Ghost Recon
NFL Fever 2003

Apparently there are 60 developers working on online titles right now with 50 on the way next year. Heres the titles I know that are on the way...

Star Wars: Galaxies
Counter Strike
Lamborghini
True Fantasy: Live Online
Phantasy Star Online 1+2
Project Gothem Racing 2
Halo 2
Midtown Madness 3
Amped 2 (I think)
Capcom Vs SNK 2 Pro
Return To Castle Wolfenstein
Outlaw Volleyball
Steel Battalion 2
Raiden Fighters Evolution
Top Spin (tennis)
Rolling
Wild Rings (I think)

Those are the titles I know about. Plus of course you have games such as Splinter Cell and Toejam & Earl 3 that although have no online play, allow you to use X-Box Live to download new content such as new levels, power ups, multiplayer maps, characters, cars, etc.

I'm guessing the next Madden game on X-Box will be online playable and maybe even the next Fifa game. I reckon that by the end of next year, there will probably be at least 1 online game for each different type of sport (barring stupid stuff like Curling before some smart ar5e tries to be clever).

Wow! So, say I get a broadband connection for my PC, and pay a monthly rate for that..

Will I be able to use the same connection for console internet at no extra cost?
And I'll be able to use the phone at the same time?
Could I be on the internet via my PC and console at the same time too?

Ooh.. to play games all day? I don't think so. They'd make me do it.

All correct, except we haven't got a broadband connection. My dad's been getting some quotes, and it all seems a bit too much - especially the monthly charges (£30.00 a month!) and installation. Really, we don't have any plans to get broadband unless it goes a bit cheaper.

Telephone used at same time as X-Box Live? Wouldn't that require a separate line? Or do they install one with broadband?

It depends what ISP you choose - just like X-Box Live. I'm sure there's a package for X-Box live (not a very good one) that'll add to the phonebill. The GC service is just about the same - there's the option of a fixed monthly rate.

That's just it - I don't have broadband, so the total cost would be huge. As for offering something different, I think that's open to debate. After all, none of the three console's online services have been released in the UK.

Oh, and as for WhirlWind - no thanks, I'm perfectly good at maths. You, however, need to get your brain checked.

Xbox live is not expensive unless your a scot lol

i have broadband for my computer its £10 a month and use it as much as you want within that time

xbox live with a router connection uses the same cable so you can have a broadband cable for you pc and 1 for your xbox and still only pay £10 a month then all you do is pay £40 for xbox live and that lasts a year

£40 a year is not expensive

say you wanted to play battlefield 1942 over the net

it would cost you £40 a year for xbox live

now play the same game on the pc over the net and you pay like £12 a month (becasue on the pc version you have to subscribe) and that will be £144 a year

pc gaming £144 a year
xbox live £40 a year

Online gaming's too expensive, and will never replace a good old multiplayer bash.
