How many games have you played recently that have got you hooked. Not just that you play them now and then, but you want to play every waking hour of the day. Hmmm, thought so. What comes straight to the top of your head?

Grand Theft Auto 3

I play that all the time. Whether it be standing on top of moving cars, shooting everything, or attempting a record Dodo flight (not bloody likely, compared with that guy um... whats his name...?)

Only good games are fun, and only fun games are addictive. Therefore, if you make an addictive game, people are bound to go for the sequel. Simple marketing strategy. And it works. Look at Final Fantasy, as an example. The storylines are great, the battling fun and the game incredibly addictive. And all of the games have been praised for their amazing-ness.

Puzzle games are like that. Tetris is simple. Tetris has poor graphics. Tetris is addictive = Tetris is freakin brilliant.

Its probably some kind of secret ingredient. Rareware have got a bucketful of it, Sega have got a mug ful and Nintendo headquarters have the vat. Simple.

So, as is asked millions of times the world over, how DO you make a good game?

Make it addictive. It works, and its proven.
Tony Hawks? Addictive + fun = multi-million franchise
Final Fantasy? = ditto

So developers take note,
since it isn't a joke,
for a good game to sell,
you need addictive-ness now,

**Good game checklist**
1. Innovation
2. Marketing
3. Graphics
4. --New entry-- Addictive gameplay.

So there it is, become addicted. Hey, they've done it with drugs, fags and alcohol, why not games as well. Only difference is, games do you a whole lot of good.
Enjoy ;-)

The game I am finding most addictive is Championship Manager 01/02. I got it as a GAD prize and it came last Wednesday. I have played the equivelant of 1 day and a half already for it..... addictive? You bet.

I think it's mainly N64 games for me that've got me hooked. When I first got Zelda: Majora's Mask I couldn't put it down, and couldn't stop thinking about it.
I also find myslef playing Excitebike and ISS 2000 almost every day, and I never seem to get bored!
I also enjoy the likes of Perfect Dark and Goldeneye when my mates come round, and I think Conkers BFD has a great multiplayer too.

I'm also playing my GBA I got for x-mas quite a bit, mainly Mario Kart. I think i've almost unlocked everyhting?? But i'm dying to play a multiplayer mode!!
I also play Zelda: Oracle of Ages quite a bit, and I enjoy that too. It's the first 2-D Zelda i've actually played!

I've played Tekken 3 quite a bit, but that's just not the same for me!
