i hate pop idol. they milk it. but out of the 2 i wanted will to win, which is good.

According to the Daily Mail, anyway.
Apparently, there were only 4900 phones lines open for votes to Gareth's number, and 21300 lines open for votes to Will's number. This means fewer people were actually able to get through to vote for Gareth.
Also, the operators were explicitly told NOT to route calls to vote for Gareth through the spare lines for the other numbers. A fix perhaps? Best not let the guy with the stutter become a pop idol? There's already plenty of suspicion around that Rik was bribed off, too. This mainly comes from the fact that he pulled out due to a throat infection, yet has since been busy recording singles.
Gareth was the favourite for the competition, and the favourite in a competition like pop idol always wins. I'm pretty sure there was foul play going on there. We'll see what happens in the next few days.

Yay!! Will was definitely the better singer. Gareth was good, but he got all the votes from teenage girls, and although it seems like the world is full of them, their obviously weren't enough for his victory.

Yeh he probably did but he will be able to go with another record company and maybe be the 6th member of Westlife.
