They've got me :-(

Having never owned a Playstation and never being a fan it has all changed around.

I am hoping and will (hopefully) be getting a Gamecube and that was the next-gen console I hyped.

But after playing the PS2 around my friends alot i realised what a great console it is and will be, not for its hardware, but for its game.

The titles on it tempt me more then any other console. There's many I think are utter rubbish, infact most of them, its just the few classics I see appearing on this console.

So now I am thinking of buying a PS2 as I know it is popular enough to keep up with the market when the bigger boys come in. But can I really call them 'bigger boys'? They are only this because of their hardware, not games.

Here's the help part, I know all of you will say I should get a PS2 but I need comments on the games I am thinking about and and suggestions of future releases, thanks.

So here's some I am looking forward to playing soon:

GTA 3
GT 3
State Of Emergency
Jax & Daxter
Metal Gear Solid 2
SSX Tricky
Final Fantasy X
GTA 4
Devil May Cry
Tony Hawks 3

Which titles do you reccomend, any that are not on the list?

Your opinions on these games please, thanks,
MWA

SR are going to be annoyed at me for saying this but:

Ex-mod company 'neo-technologies' are selling off all their non-mod products that they have in stock. I think they are selling PS2s for £165. Unfortunatley they have no games or memory cards, but its worth a look,

The £170 price tag is really only speculation, though another price drop seems likely around the release of either X-Box or Gamecube.

As for best offers, I don`t look around a whole lot at other offers on other internet sites, but I can say for sure that SR is usually better than any shop in town. If I was buying a PS2 now, it`d be through SR.

(btw, I`m not on 10% honest :-) )

I looked at SR first off, I was just wondering if it was cheaper anywhere else. But, I'll take another look now :-)

Ok thanks SSXPRO, you've been a great help.

Now I have one last question, sorry :-(

I need to know where I can get the best deal on a PS2, prefferably with GTA3 & a memory card (as they are essential). The PS2 is going down to 170 quid right? whens that happening?

If anyone has any internet addresses where I can get a good bundle or shops round and about, post them :-)

No problems.

There are certainly dance mats available in Japan, but I`m not sure when they`ll be easy to get hold of in the UK. Check SR`s product list just in case though. As for the Britney game itself, this has been talked about for a while now, and it seems certain that a Britney dancing game will arrive soon.

There are games like MTV Music Generator 2, but this is more of a music creator, rather than a game you simply dance to. I`m afraid its not the kind of game I look out for, so I can`t be much help.

>Is the DVD playback good quality?

Its a tough question this. I`d have to say that if you get an RGB cable sorted, and the Region X to get rid of green screen, then the picture quality is good. Without the RGB, its still alright, but merely a standard DVD player, and nothing special. Considering you are getting the PS2 console with it, its great value though.

Do you mean the mats with the arrows?
Because I've seen them in Argos :-)
They also have a snowboard and some VR glasses (that cost something like £299.99!!)

So ssxpro, have you thought about getting the snowboard? (seeing as you like SSX games so much.) they cost about £70 I think.

Great guys thanks, you've now made me want the console even more.

Loved the descriptions SSXPRO thanks alot.

I've played some of the games and think I know what to go for, though ever game I listed is or is sure to be class.

How could I let the Sony get me?

Is it true theres some Britney dance mat game coming out because a worthy excuse for my parents buying it (except for the DVD playback) is that she wants a dnace mat and game. Are there any others on there market which you can bounce your stuff to? I read about some euro dance mix or sometihng....

Is the DVD playback good quality?

I let the Sony get me....

Also, for footiee fans (talk to Pro Evo

Theres my Cue!!! *takes deep breath*

If you are truely a footie fan there is no other football game out there that you need. Forget about TIF 2002, forget about Fifa (unless you want club teams but crap gameplay) as Pro Evo has it all. The gameplay is out of this world and plays as if they have taken 22 players from real life and put them on a CD, it plays so real with players able to see down the pitch and cross and areal path right into your players feet, or set shots up with Jimmy can unleash his power on and take the net out with it.

Basicly if you want a football game get Pro Evo, still not convinced? Check out my review and nearly everybody elses to see how good the game is.
