Here is the basic plot to the original film, but I’m sure you have all seen it anyways, :-) A young fawn, Bambi, is born and innocently makes his way, trying to understand life in the forest. But then a human hunter kills Bambi’s mother. Bambi grows into adulthood and soon comes to find love, although the ever-present threat of the human hunter lurks. I am sure everybody who has seen this film was disappointed with the outcome of the film, surely Bambi should have turned into a blood thirsty, bone-breaking machine? Well, After emailing Disney twice, complaining about this, they have decided to bring out a game based around the film, apart from the fact that – after Bambi’s mother is brutally destroyed, anything that annoys Bambi causes Bambi’s irritation meter (similar to the sanity meter in Eternal Darkness) to rise. Thus causing Bambi to turn haywire creating as much chaos and destruction as he can. Although this is one of the features available to this exciting game (codenamed Deer Avenger) there is a story line to follow.

Bambi goes on a rampage at the hunter’s camp; he kills many hunters causing them to run away. Bambi discovers the hunter’s guns and alcohol. He becomes an excessive drinker and turns into ‘Bambo’ – the deer avenger. With the use of guns ‘Bambo’ can do whatever he pleases, your choices of weapons include a bazooka, M16, or slingshot although more will be announced. As Bambo you work to ferret out hunters. Telltale signs include empty beer cans, tree carvings, and a roll of toilet paper. To aid your hunt, you can click the "Call" icon. Calls include "Sweet! Baywatch is on!" and "Viagra!".

Try taking pot shots at rednecks and tree huggers in Deer Avenger, the hilarious video game parody of the popular Deer Hunter genre. You are "Bambo" and on the warpath to track and take down your mortal enemy: orange-clad hunters. Deer Avenger (Sam41 Interactive, £39.95) has the basic feel of a hunting game, but with a demented twist.. Once you're armed, you assume the identity of Bambo, an animated cartoon buck, and begin to stalk your prey. Hot on the hoof prints of Deer Hunter, GT Interactive's million-selling hunting game, Deer Avenger neither glorifies nor mocks hunters. Scripted by Sam41 and some of the Disney team, Deer Avenger is sort of a Weird Al Yankovic of game titles--fun to play and amusing. Choose your hunting location (London, Manchester, or Melton Mowbray :-) and then the fever of the hunt beings.
Deer Avenger is one of the funniest strategy games I've wrapped my brain (and trigger finger) around in a long, long time. It is a witty lampoon of video game genre desperate for something beyond its current staid offerings.
"Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery," said Walt Disney. But what would the naturalists have thought of Deer Avenger? Only time will tell

Thumper does appear in this game, in the end he ends up dying in a cutscene
Here is a preview of this cutscene

*An ugly hunter appears (looks like GTA Gangster)*
Bambo: Did you kill my mother?
Hunter: Huh?
*BANG!*
*Thumper appears*
Thumper: If you can't shoot anything nice, Don't shoot anything at all
Bambo and Thumper start laughing
Thumper: You know Bambi, you have changed......
*BANG!*
Thumpers organs are flying, before he can even finish the sentence.
*An evil grin appears on Bambo's face, he turns round and walks away*

Hope this answers your question
