Use the auto-updater you get with Half Life
It'll find the latest version and download it for you

I used to play Counter strike loads , aswell as firearms and day of defeat. But the game got even more annoying over time, i got so much lag, because i only have a 56k modem.
So after a while i stopped playing, and decided to uninstall my half life ,and all the mods i had with it. But am getting a cable internet connection at the end of the month , so i'll start playing again. And also the time taken for me to download the half life update , along with all the mods will be cut a lot. :)
And i'll start playing return to castle wolfenstein multiplayer ,which is excellent
