As usual i will be stuck at home with the folks. Then i will take the party to my room and drink to the sorrows that this new year will throw at me for jest.
Same here, cooks. I'll be staying in, as normal. Playing Medal of Honour probably.
I hate the new year. I always forget to change the number when i write the new date. In 2000 i wrote 1999 for the first two weeks in january.
by the way my rant was against going out on the town on new years, not new years in general just in case anyone missed the point

I don't actually like new years eve! Why?
1. Its generally expensive if you go out
2. Its all a load of fuss over something very insignificant. oh no the number we write down for the date is slightly different
3. It symbolises the start of perhaps the worst mont of the year
4. I can do all the things that happen on new years any other night of the year, especially at uni.
5. Excessive structure, i don't really want the interuption of everyone stopping at midnight, to go happy new year to everyone.
6. Generally bad memories of when young, and weird adults singing old Land sye.
7. Going in to town involves taxi's at ridiculous prices which aren't there or a walk back in the cold, and you just know it will be bloody cold. The best thing is a Tee total friend who wants to go out but not drink, they are a godsend but hard to find/probably don't exist! lol
Admittedly i'll enjoy it as I am going to a big party at my mates house, but in reality i don't really see why everyone get so worked up about it as you can do anything you do that night...and more, on most other nights of the year. If you are not going to a private party, don't go out to a pub/club (unless you have a very good reason...ie and attractive female has been demanding your presence, lust/love are probably the only acceptable reasons) If your sole aim is to go out and have a good time/ get drunk and there is nowhere cheap near you, its much better just to have about 3 or 4 amazing nights out for the same price.
