We all know that Sony are the company of the future bringing great inventions out every year. Tv's, stereo's and computers are just a few of them and here is why the PS2 is by far better than any console ever. Firstly, just looking at the slick black box with its shiny red and green lights makes you proud to own one. Who cares if your friends call you spoilt just because your parents bought it for you (not that mine did) unless it was a Christmas gift or something like that. Secondly, the graphics.... you just cannot argue with them. Sure there are people who say the PC is much better but obviously nothing can compare to the PC. But, with great developers like Rockstar, Capcom and Electronic Arts pumping great new games into the market the PS2 is going to be around for a long time unlike the Dreamcast. I just can’t wait for State of Emergency which you have to admit does look pretty damn good considering its cartoon like looks. Although, GTA3 has been called one of the best games ever and it doesn’t have particularly good graphics. Devil May Cry on the other hand has extremely fast gameplay with lush surroundings and a superb gothic atmosphere and a pumping soundtrack. The games are also at an affordable price unlike the X-Box games which will be… are you ready, £49.99 in the shops but luckily for most we have special reserve and there they only cost £42.99 even for the top titles like HALO. The X-Box has 4 controller ports unlike the PS2 which only has 2 but that don’t really matter. Here is why the PS2 really kicks X-Box’s butt. It does not have a DVD player with it, you have to buy an official pack which costs only £28.99 but still the PS2 comes with one which is less hassle. I think the X-Box is not going to be anywhere near as good as what the PS2 was when it first came out and I also predict that in about 5 or so years the X-Box will fall just like the Dreamcast and other unsuccessful consoles whereas the PS2 will stand tall for many more years. Another great thing about the PS2 which will keep it on the road to success is that it has an expansion bay for any new surprises which companies may bring including the 56k Internet connection which I’m dying for. Again I just hope they bring multiplayer games out for it.
Japan and all the other leading manufacturing companies better keep up the good work.

Yes, ONE game!

And I can't recall the last time I paid £45 for a PS2 game, buying in Game. Starfighter, I think. Most are listed at £39.99 in my local Game. Andyes I know Game/EB are the same thing.

I still stand by my original post - *most* PS2 games have an RRP of £39.99.

I don't think that's bad when you consider that most GBA games haven't been much cheaper until recently, and that the price is probably only falling now because the 'cube games are due to retail at much the same price!

Prices have been around the £40-£45 mark for consoles for 7 years or so now, so I don't see why it's suddenly a big deal anyway.

If you want to moan about prices, try the official 8mb memory card for Xbox, which has an RRP of £49.99!

SOME of thhem prices on the Game website have been reduced from the RRP. They are actually lower than the shop prices. For example, they have MGS2 for £42.99, when they will actually be selling it for £44.99.

And that Final Fantasy X price...

Devil May Cry has an RRP of £44.99. It even says so on the advert.

Which puts real doubt in my mind over all the titles in that list.

Game website? Game/EB are the same thing.
