If you read digitizer this morning one of their main stories was about the GameCube.
Apparantly many of the BIG electronic superstores are thinking about not selling the GameCube in their shops because of the price tag. They reckon it is too low a price and they wouldnt be able to make a profit from it.
So the stores might either make Nintendo increase the price or smoe thing else.

It would be cheaper to just buy a GC game than to pirate them.

Cex has only stopped selling import gamecubes this is due to the fact nintendo have finally realised they can be modded to play us and jap games, and are worried that such consoles may also play pirate copies. Same as Sony going after the modchip makers really.

The only retailer not doing Gamecube stock is CEX and that is

My local CEX is selling GameCube. You can pre-order and everything. I know one of the guys who works there and he lets me play on all the GameCube and Xbox, and before it was out here, he let me play on a GBA. Sweet!

Nintendo set an RRP, shops sell for whatever they like.

If this certain retailer isn't going to sell the GCN, it's because they feel that the price they want to set would be higher than the competitors, and no one will buy from them.

Stupid retailer.
