2002 Has certainly been a busy year in the gaming world,
some gamers were left jumping with joy whilst others were left trembling with fear.
2002 Saw the release of three promising new consoles, The Nintendo Gamecube, the Microsoft Xbox (Ok so maybe this one wasn’t so promising) and the Game Boy Advance.
All of which contain the latest in gaming technology and will blow you away.
Although one console in particular wasn’t very welcome was the Microsoft Xbox,
People weren’t very keen on it mainly because of it’s creator Bill Gates (Who’s well known for ripping of his customers) but the Xbox seems to be proving itself now as a top competitor. Although the price of the Xbox was far to high at the time of the launch the price has come down a considerable amount (Still not enough though)
The most popular console at the moment seem to be the GBA and the GameCube, why? Because Nintendo have far more experience when it comes to making consoles than Microsoft they also price their consoles at a much more competitive price.
2002 has also seen a huge variety of games, such as Halo Combat Evolved, Splinter Cell and the hugely popular GTA vice City.
GTA vice city is probably one of the most successful games of 2002 alongside FIFA 2003.
GTA-VC is noted for its crystal clear graphics and of-the-chart game play.
In GTA-VC you can go anywhere your heart desires, you can take any vehicle which catches your eye, you can even hop in a tank or if you really want to go posh you can hop in a boat you name it any vehicle you see you can drive.
GTA-VC is definitely the most successful game of the year shooting straight up to the top of the charts at launch, Wow top stuff.
Probably the most talked about gaming moment of 2002 is RareWare moving to Microsoft.
RareWare originally worked alongside Nintendo and brought them many successful games and many happy times, in-fact I think that if it wasn’t for Rare Nintendo wouldn’t be as popular as they are today.
Personally I hate Bill Gates for stealing Rare of Nintendo, I hated him anyway but I hate him even more now.
Greed must’ve gotten the better of Rare ‘cos it would’ve taken a lot of money for them to leave Nintendo’s side
The Xbox offers a wider opportunity for Rare simply because (Like it or not) it’s the most powerful console in the world.
I wish Rare the best of luck.
So what will 2003 hold in store?
Well hopefully it will be even more exiting than this years as we hope to hear more about the PS3 and (Not so hopefully) the Xbox2.
Nintendo should also give the announcement of their latest handheld, the name of which is currently unknown but it promises to be the very latest in handheld technology and even more powerful than the GBA.
2003 is certainly going to be an exiting year, hopefully with the release of some more great games GTA4 perhaps? Who knows but 2003 will be a very eventful year in the weird and wonderful world of gaming.
I say a fond farewell to 2002 and a very warm welcome to 2003.
Happy New Year folks!!!
Jumpy graphics and pop-up graphics always spoil an otherwise decent game

Yeah, I was actually quite surprised by that - there's a bit of slowdown at times too, which is annoying.
I've gone off it. :-D
