N-Gamer: Why did Nintendo of Europe decide to not bring Animal Crossing to Europe?

David Tomlinson: Nintendo of Europe decided not to bring Animal Crossing to Europe because this genre of game hasn’t been tested in Europe or America. Because of this, Nintendo made a business decision to launch Animal Crossing in one region other than Japan. The region chosen was America. They then decided they couldn’t bring a new type of game out it one region, and not in Europe, the region complaining about being treated badly, so they launched Doshin the Giant here. Both games have been a success in both regions, and Nintendo of Europe is currently in the process of translating Animal Crossing for Europe.

N-Gamer: Will Animal Crossing ever reach European shores?

David Tomlinson: Well, let’s just say that I am testing a PAL conversion of it at the moment…

OMG, this isn't confirmation at all, the guy they interviewed is just a tester, N-gamer is just a fan-site run by one guy, how would they get a scoop for this? No-one seems to have noticed that no other sites have reported this but nintendo always get games testers to reveal unreleased info to fan-sites, don't they!!!LOL NoE admitted over 3 months ago that they were testing AC for europe! It still won't be out for ages, how long was the jap-u.s translation, at least 3 months iirc so multiply that by 4 and you have an answer for when it will drop, mind you Nintendo have a press conference next week regarding 2003 for PAL so if it's confirmed it will be then and not before,

I seem to remember a NoE rep saying magical vacation would get a PAL release and did it?

I just see that this was taken from cube-europe whose word don't count for ****, they report second-hand news from a fan-site, I mean come on that is just amateur. NoE actually chose to release Doshin instead of this(they had to pick one or the other) and for that reason I will never trust their judgement.

It's about time.

It looks like Freeloader will lose a LOT of sales now.
Serves it right for being so slow - what happened to the August release anyway?

Anyways, the PAL version the guy is testing might well be the Aussie one so we'll probably have to wait for the European translating to be done.
Should be worth the wait though.

Not likely, since the megaton rumour is big in japan and america too.
So it's not going to be megaton, which means ther'll be more big news soon.......

if the freeloader can be arsed to come out on the release date, then I'll buy it and AC imedietly. I don't care how annoying swapping disks is, or even if it gets a autumn release, I just want this game as soon as legal methods of doing so become available.
