Is it me, or are most game companies turning their attention to expansion pack's now. Some of them are great, but it seem's like most companies are flogging a dead game. Things like the sims, and half life. Some good addon's, but its only recently half life 2's been planned. In my local game shop, the game to addon ratio was about 2:1, for addon's. There should really be a lot more games out there. Not just riding on the wake of a great game.

Yeah, woth the sims, i spent all my money on the Expansion packs, and they weren't even that good!
I totaly agree with you espacialy about The Sims (). But think of it from a game developer's point of view:
You relese a game it sells well-You make money
You realise that the game genre is fine so why risk a change?
You produce small changes to the game and resell them as "add-ons"
You make even more money.
This is why they do it. Most game developers have no consience.
