My dad was just writing a CD of Queen songs he downloaded, on our new CD writer on our brand new computer, and to say it's fast is a damn understatement. In 7 minutes, and 10 seconds, it wrote 80 minutes of music - and the CD was filled to the brim! If that ain't fast, I don't know what is! On another note, it was running at 12X (800KB/sec). PCWorld rule!

Scan have 2 DVD writers and a CD writer on offer this weekend..

SCSI DVD Writer.. £159!!
IDE DVD Writer.. £299!!
32x burner (yup, 32!!!) for £90!!

Bargains..

If only I had some cash..

Wether it's slow or not it doesn't matter as long as it works, unless you have a thing about getting the best?

DVD writers come in at around £400 though Scan had one on Today Only not long ago for £150!!! Didnt state speed or anything so I presume it was very slow..

Came with the G4 (which was about £2700 for the tower)... not sure what you'd pay seperately..

Heh, I can bet that would hold quite the bundle :p How much did you get yours for? I heard they were about £800.

Anyone want to come and play with my DVD burner? Unfortunately it's attached to a Mac, but I am running a competition to see how many MP3's one disc will hold!!:-)
