Just scroll down the glossery of techno babble that Microsft are expecting people to know, or at least partly understand.
Here http://www.xbox.com/LIVE/connect/glossary.htm#nic
And look at adrien tryin to explain MICP numbers(whatever the hell they are) to olympic hero.
Lists of incompatable routers, modems, different conection types. To many people, just forget it. They won't have a clue.
Good luck to MS getting Xboxlive to take off- its not as easy as they make out.

Microsoft has never wanted to include web browsing or email. To run XBox Live most people how use ADSL will need a PC. Microsoft wanted gaming only, and as most people have a PC to use the net on. From personal experience with the Dreamcast having internet on a TV is pretty crap due to the low resolution of the TV.

First week on release all stores sold out, as they did of most Xbox Live games available at the time, now how many people who bought it had trouble with it is another, undocumented, matter :)
Personally I had no problems. Checked out the Xbox Live site, asked Adrian on here a few questions, ordered my NIC card and cable off the net, plugged all of it in, got Xbox Live, no problems at all.
