Have you ever looked into a lake, a river, perhaps even a mere puddle and thought to yourself - "who am I?", "Where am I going?" or are you someone who thinks "Surely I don't look like that?"

No?

Maybe it's good that you don't have the time to even consider taking the time to reflect upon your own life, what you are doing and why you're doing it, where you're going and what you actually want to become, want to achieve. You could spend your whole life planning to do so many wonderful things, but by the time you've finished deciding your aims and your goals, it's too late?

Sometimes you can get so caught up in such miniscule little problems - when you realise that there are some completely narrow minded people out there who really don't know the concept of respect...

You realise that every small problem, every petty argument - it's so insignificant - so you ignore it. Ignore everything.

Becoming ignorant of reality in the hope that you can find something else, an alternative world, an ideal where there is nothing wrong, all is good - you keep on searching for that ideal, but in the wake of it all you turn into something that you don't actually want to be - you'll never find it because there is no ideal, and when you finally realise that, you only hope that you're still who you want to be, and that you haven't turned into something you once loathed. So you just get on with life and you live it, taking each day at a time, because you know that's the only way you're going to get through it all.

And one day, you'll find out that you're ok, that life is good and that because you've treated well, it's done the same back to you.

Reflecting on what you don't know will only show an empty space, because you're not there, and if you do make it there, you won't be reflecting upon it, because you'll be in someplace else, hopefully for the better.

Respect y'all.

Circles spiralling,
to edges unseen.
Some look for the edge,
Some stay in between.
Those that go out,
Get weaker too fast.
Those on the inside,
Stay strong to the last.

I don't know if that makes too much sense Dan, but your post inspired it.

"Experience makes us who we are.
Experience takes us to what we become."

I hate to do this, but I don't agree with this. I'm the way I am because of choice. I didn't wake up one day with some man having a gun to my head and he decided how I'd think, what I'd do and basically decide my life for me. I made those decisions myself.

That is what we've got nowadays. Freedom.

Freedom of speech, freedom of thought. The two things that people can't take away from you. The things that make us individuals and humans. The things that make us stand out from everyone else. From the idiots who ignore those in need. From the bullies who wish to see those suffer. From the rich who look down at the poor.

We all make decisions everyday. Little or Large, makes no difference - they could be life changing all the same. People can influence you. People can guide you. People can't choose for you.

Maybe its a plus that there is a path, and path that at the moment we all know we will (in this life anyway) die.

I which I had a map of the terrain so I could follow the landmines, however I am still just a piece of the sequence. Crossing everything with my eyes wide shut. Forgetting about the fact that nearly all trails have been probably tracked or been taken before.

I will take my time to find the right way to climb.... ...we don't want to be shown the way, the direction, that would stop ourselves having our own thoughts. These things are personal. What we feel, think and even cry about inside. That makes us who we are. All very special.

I was told and continue to pass onto people the message that 'in your life, there is only you'.

Every human gets put through hell, mostly when our guard is gone, all problems are different, just like pains and pleasures there are inmeasurable. Never can you understand what another has been through, you can try to relate. However their personal domain is theirs, not yours.

If I managed to find it, and I showed you the perfect path of life, you would never leave it? What kind of a 'life' is that. We are all individual, surely thats the point?

Experience makes us who we are.
Experience takes us to what we become.

Thank you

I love these type of topics. Would have thought Life forum would have been better, but what the hell.

The way I see things is, sometimes - why even bother? Like you say, everything seems somewhat insignificant to anything and you begin to question the reality in which you live in. You wonder how people can act the way they do, why can't people behave more civilised and more like yourself and why is everything so complicated?

Sleeping. A waste of time, I believe. For when you reach a certain age, you'll have spent at least a third of your life unaware of what is happening, unable to achive or do anything and leave everything behind without beind able to give everything 100%.

We all make our aims in life. We all are reaching for something, for someone to notice us, for that pat on that back. But, the more you think about it, the less likely things are to happen. We almost create a fantasy world for ourselves sometimes, that is what dreaming is for. Where, we seek attention in order for people to notice us, so that we can achieve what we believe is right.

I'll stop now.

Nice post.

Pure brilliance Dan. Give this man a GAD! On topic, I've never looked back on my life, because I believe that life's too short to just contemplate every minute movement or action that we make. Life is too short, so embrace it whilst you have it.
