"nWo = Bad Television?"

Here is the list of matches scheduled for one of the WWF's smaller shows, which has no real impact on the storylines or titles, Heat (taken from tapings last night):

Hurricane Helms vs Lance Storm

WWF Cruiserweight Champion Tajiri vs Scotty 2 Hotty

Val Venis vs Perry Saturn

The Godfather vs Funaki

Crash vs The Bossman

Out of that list, I would say at least three of them are entertaining match-ups. Hurricane and Lance Storm are probably 2 of the best to come out of the Alliance, Tajiri is an excellent, original wrestler as well as a Champion, and Scotty 2 Hotty has been wrestling well lately I feel, added to the fact he involved the crowd in his matches. Val Venis has also only just come back, and after competing well with Stone Cold at the Rumble is on the Heat card again, along with in my opinion one of the most dangerous men in the WWF, Perry Saturn.
Godfather may not be an excellent grappler, but he's only just come back, and he's already on Heat! Funaki...well, he's got no hopes, especially with TAKA out of action.
Crash...well, he was the most successful hardcore champion of all time, and now look at him. Bossman being on Heat I have no complaints with.

Now in my opinion, that is an excellent line-up for a Heat show. This is without the Alliance, and before the nWo really make an impact. Now what gets me, is when the nWo turn up, containing 3-5 more wrestlers, what's gonna happen to the mid-carders?? As well as being more wrestlers to put into matches, they're obviously going to take up enough mic time as well.

Tazz and Spike Dudley, the tag team champions (who are on Metal this week) are on average in one of Raw and Smackdown (the bigger shows) per week. That is sad, because they are supposedly the best tag team in the WWF, if they are champions! Christian, the European Champion, was on both Metal and Heat last week- a place that's usually reserved for Funaki, developmental talent etc!

With the nWo coming along, I foresee talented wrestlers like Christian, Test, Bradshaw, Faarooq, Scotty, Albert, Val Venis, Tazz, Spike, Gunn, Palumbo and possibly even people like Edge and the Intercontinental Champion William Regal, being left out of storylines, shows, and basically not getting enough TV time, while brawlers like Rock, Austin and oldies like Hogan get more than they deserve.

It's disappointing, and I hope that the WWF don't let this happen, but with plans for a push for the Cruiserweight Division being cancelled by Vince McMahon, I can see the current product going downhill. And this is not the fault of the wrestlers, but idiots like Vince himself who can't get enough of themselves on TV, and love the main eventers and nobody else.

Not sure, supposedly anytime between February and April, maybe even May.

Personally, I can't wait.

They need more heels right now, they won't even consider turning them face until the heel/face thing gets balanced out better

The latest Smackdown was great it seems like what people want is actually happening with mid-carders featuring in a lot of matches. Having never seen nWo in action it will be interesting for me, so I have no complaints. I hope they are a success.
If they aren't good enough they won't stay long unless they become faces, which is very unlikely.

Edge should either be feuding with Christian, or team up with him again, or get the heck off my TV

Edge has a classy enterance and great music! The WWF is in desperation that their PPV's ain't that good anymore! You all moan that PPV's like Vengeance were cr@p, and when they try annd make it better, you still moan! STOP MOANING OR I'LL DO AN IB ON YOU! Or maybe not!

Ah well.

Just a thought about the nWo...wouldn't it be great if the signed up, came back and got exactly what they deserved. i.e. they get in the ring and their storylines dictate that they have to act injured all the time because they are so old? End result they lose all their matches, put some mid-carders over and Vince writes himself out of the story cos his plan failed?!? Wouldn't that be great!!!

I reckon he might lose that title very soon. Seems the WWF creative team can't figure out what to do with him...

NWO is only 3 new wrestlers at the moment. It won't have as much impact as the Alliance and should liven up main events. Don't knock it until it actually happens.

Edge could be great if he remembered how to use his mouth and turned heel again, which he could be in the process of doing. His attacks on Regal seem like the acts of a madman looking for respect.

Christian seems to be like a less important version of Jericho. Instead of having the world title he's got the European title. However he could have an interesting fued with Triple H leading up to No Way Out, I doubt it beacuse it will probably be forgotton by next week.
