Just out of interest, what do you think would happen to GC sales if the PS2 lowered in price to £150 before launch?

Add to that, if Sony launch a big marketting streak at the same time...

Probably when the Ninty's realise the same applies with the Nintendo name? :-)

Likewise with the Gamecube.
If I DID have enough money for a PS2 as well as the GC then I would certainly get one.

The PS2 has many sales allready but if the price goes down even more it will deffenetly sell i brought mine at the last down fall. Also the PS2 is well known, unless the GC people can come up with some really good slogans and adverts

It would no doubt increase PS2 sales still further, keeping Sony ahead of the pack. But I don't think it would affect GC sales.

Those who want a GC are likely to buy one even if Sony were giving away PS2's. Each machine will have more than enough users - it's just a question of market share, which Sony already lead by a massive margin.

I personally think that, for £150, any fan of games would be mad not to pick up a PS2.

Just think if Sony did lower the price, you could pick up a PS2 and a Gamecube for the same price as an Xbox!

It outsold the almighty PS2!

I know...but they think the GBA will help sell the GC coz it is compatible with it.

They make a smaller loss at £150 than Sony and MS did with the £300 prices.
Either they genuinely like Europeans or they want to get more consoles into home to sell games too.
