The "General Games Chat" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
This is from a person that does freelance reviews and spends a lot of time writing something that will describe a movie/game with an individual style.
And more importantly, writing it myself because I love to do that.
Right, with that out of the way:
"That firstly, editing a review is fine and not a copying offence, and that you can actually make a decent review from another review."
This is your excuse for ripping off, yet again, another review.
Editing is EXACTLY the same as copying.
It shows a lack of imagination and pure laziness, and seeing as games are given to reviews, it also reeks of cheating to obtain things you did not deserve.
This is just me talking here, with no demands for punishment at all, that is nothing to do with me at all.
I cannot believe, yet again, you are cribbing from other people's work.
I've had that done to me twice before, in print.
A few words changed around and guess what happened?
They got sued.
So "editing" is exactly the same as plagarising someone, there is no difference whatsoever.
I cannot stand people that are too stupid/lazy/illiterate to work for themselves.
You've been banned time and time again for doing this, and to offer the excuse of "editing" is weak and highlights the problem all too common these days of other people abusing the trust of others.
This is nothing to do with "BAN SHANEO!" or "I HATE SHANEO".
This isn't a plot against you, this is a writer expressing his disgust at the laziness of someone willing to take credit for the time spent by someone else actually bothering to write.
Shame on you.
Look, I wouldn't dare copying again after my numerous offences, but this was to make a point. I copied it from the same source where I THOUGHT RBS did and edited it, to see who got caught first - me or Rasta. My MSN account has been hacked and now my stats are all going wierd, with reviews and the like appearing in there :(
> You all hate me now don't you
No, not hate you.
I merely expressed my disbelief at your insistence that "editing" is anything other than copying.
You've been busted so many times for this yet you persist, still in doing it.
Call it what you will, but unless you sit down and create a review of your own free thought, with no input from any other source than your own head, then you're cheating not only SR, but yourself and the person you "edit"
Is it that hard?
Why not just post your own stuff with no assistance from someone that has gone to the trouble of doing just that?
This isn't about hating anyone, life is too short for that.
But life is also too short to rip other people off for whatever reason.
There's a term for people that edit/copy/rip-off other people's work.
Hack
That's the best thing and most polite thing I can say about you Shaneo.
A hack.
My dad is an estate photographer (quite renowned worldwide). About two years ago he took interior and exterior photographs of a home now owned by Theirry Henry.
A couple of his photo's appeared in the Daily Express last friday, with the words 'exclusive' splashed across it, it was an article on how expensive footballers houses are. My dad, had not been asked at all for use of any of these images, after phoning the express and having a complete stress he managed to beat information out of them. Apparently a company called ArcBlue have been providing my dads images to papers without my dads permission for a while.
Not in a very good mood, my dad thought to cover himself, getting hold of Henry's PR. Who had explained to him when the photos were taken.
Its a complete monkeh ball taking world out there. Not even asked, because he would have simply said yes, instead now he is going for usage fees and various other 'copyright law' sues.
It was digusting. It consumed his whole day, and this being one of the three days he has off in every month. He was not pleased. Just because somebody used his work and when asked, didn't even admit that, and said it was their 'in house photographer'.
Those people. *angry tone*. SHOULD BE SHOT.
