I've just received I virus through Hotmail.

Now, I'm not too sure if this particular virus can automatically send itself to the victims contacts, but this is a warning, just incase.

It's from someone called "Cathy Kindergarten" (e-mail: [email protected])

It has an attacthment with. It's 45K, and it's filename is "MyPic.sr".

DO NOT OPEN IT.

Anyway, that is all. Just to warn you guys...

I dont open any emails above 50K. Even then i only open ones from people that i know.

Fortunately if a virus does slip through into my computer my scanner will pick it up pretty quick.

Don't donwload any attachments unless the person says what they are sending and why...

If you don't know what it is, just leave it and email them back asking...

I just don't download them full stop if I don't know who they are from...

Is there any way of Virus Scanning a file in a Hotmail e-mail, but with your own software, and not the crappy McAfee one that they have?

Gah, that made me sound stupid.
Rephrase I will, yes.

I'm familiar with Hotmail, and I'm familiar with viruses, just not too familiar with how Hotmail handles them.

Yes, better. Better indeed.

Hotmail is bad enough, seems like it can't pick up on viruses within screensaver files.
Even worse is the MS outlook combined with hotmail addresses. Seems they can automatically send the virus out to your address book without you knowing.

Not very nice.

Don't open any attatchments that are screensavers on hotmail. Even if you know who they are from.
