Having recently won my first GAD for my Operation Flashpoint review, i'd like to take this opportunity to thank Special Reserve.
The GAD system is a genius idea, because not only do S.R get huge site content, but it give people like myself the chance to write reviews & win games!!
I enjoy writing my reviews, i like to make them as good as possible and i hope they are of help to gamers who need suggestions of to what games to buy.( Nobody likes to waste money on a bad game. )
I appreciate that people think my reviews can be good enough to win against stiff competition and to get a prize for something i really enjoy doing is great.
( Do i sound like Gwyneth Paltrow accepting an award??!! )

Thanks :-D

It has cost SR £37,200 so far. But I bet they make a lot of money from it too. I know that it was GAD that first brought me to SR, and its probably the same for you too.

Its great generosity on SR's part. Think about it, someone is now considered the minority if the HAVEN'T won GAD. So just about everyone on these forums have been given at least 1 free game or DVD.

Also, its not like one of those scams, where it says they give out a game, but you have a snowballs chance in hell of actually winning it. On SR, if your post is good, you have a very high chance of winning. Great!

True, they don't have to give us free gifts at all.

I won for a walkthrough. I also think they should be worth more than £25, I think they should be a part of prize 2 alongside the reviews. But a game or DVD up to £25 is still very generous of SR. Who are we to complain, they dont have to give us free stuff, but im glad they do.

A walkthrough (IMO) would take a lot more work that a review or a discussion. Those walkthroughs can be several pages long if its a long game and an accurate walkthrough.

It should get a BETTER prize than the reviews and discussions.

I agree.

A walkthrough requires a heck of a lot more work to be put into it to be accurate and helpful.

Some people may do simple walkthroughs, but then again, are they walkthroughs or just a bunch of hints?

Those who do win for proper walkthroughs should be able to choose the same as those who win for reviews and discussions.

the only problem with it is that for writing a walkthrough that has taken hours or maybe days that takes more efort than any of the other things you can do to win prizes and you only get a game worth £25, if you win.
