As the header suggests, I have just read at another forum I frequent quite a lot (rhymes with ledge) that the PAL Gamecube will come with a 60Hz mode, which can be accessed by holding down the 'B' button.

WOW !!
but also , ive just read on cube-europe , that the pal versions of games , normally have the letter box screen , not full screen , but it's been confirmed that the games will play full screen , full speed just like the US consoles !

it makes the game run faster , but from past dreamcast experience , i couldn't really notice the difference. Lets just say it's like playing a US game (fast ) but on a uk machine.

So what exactly is the effect of having a 60 Hz mode then?

And if this is a stupid question, then it's not me asking, it's.. um.. a dumb blonde. Or an irishman. Or a dumb blond irishman who also fulfills every stereotype for stupidity you can think of. And can work dr duck's computer. And was allowed on after cleaning all the tip-ex off the screen last time...

Out of interest, what console DOESN'T support RGB scart output???

As for the 60Hz mode, this is all well and good, but the PS2 supposidly has this option too, and almost no games support it. The DC on the other hand has almost every game supporting it. It all depends on how easy it is to impliment, and that has yet to be seen.

In the original post, it sounds as if the guy (who used to be the editor of Edge Magazine) has a spec sheet in front of him.

But how do they know?

Have they got their hands on PAL machines?

Naw man, you guessed right.

It's always the first visit of the day for me :) Good discussions and always manage to hear the relevant news there first.
