Point your browsers to the OFFICIAL European Gamecube site on Monday Morning when this site will go live.
Apparently all will be revealed, units allocated, price and best of all the release of the system with an actual date!
At long last!.
The site is not up and running at the moment as webmasters are working on it adding touches. (Try to go on it, it asks for a password)
It will include a LIVE announcement, hopefully with video or the bog standard audio.
But hey, it's a start. Just think- An 'Actual' announcement.
Nintendo actually are Producing now, at this minute... European Gamecubes!!
Upwire, here on Special Reserve will apparently have an announcement too on Monday.
upwire.com
So what do you think the prices will be?
I'll have a guess at £149.99 for the console, £25 for the Controllers with £15 being for the Memory Cards.
Games I'll have a guess at £39.99 1st+2nd Party with 3rd Party developers discs retailing at £44.99-£49.99.
I could be wrong, but i don't think im far off.
Heres to Monday morning........
www.cube-europe.com, for all interested.
It tells you nothing more than what CV&G has said, mind.
Booh hoo hoo.
Mikami, for example, has given some of the PS2's from Resident Evil Veronica to the Devil May Cry. Yet he still finds it horribly awkward and a pain to make the simplest games for, let alone complex ones that try to exploit the PS2's power.
When exactly did he say this? Show me then I'll believe you. I'm sure he doesn't find it 'horribly awkward'.

And there's a bigger step up from the PS2 to Gamecube, than Gamecube to Xbox (no, not in polygon count, in general performance combined with efficiency and develloper friendliness.)
I could buy an Xbox or a PS2 but I won't because there aren't enough games that I really want being released for it.
I'd rather pay less for a console that, in my opinion, has a superior selection of games.
And if anyone disagrees with that, they can violently rub themselves up against an alligator, and see how THEY like it.

GameCube - looks like a Fisher Price fun lunchbox. This argument swings both ways
> Not really that powerful. Despite what people think.
Equal graphics to the GameCube, I'll have you know. Silent Hill 2 technically outshines your precious Resi.
> Most games look awful in visuals.
I have 17 games and none of them are awful
> Framerate problems.
Erm, where?
> Absolutley hard to develop for, supposedly worse than Saturn.
Not hard, just different. You're getting the two confused. It's different because it's actually *designed* to play 3D games, unlike the GameCube and Xbox.
> Styles itself as a Games Console when it is not.
Oh, I see. I must have been imagining myself playing top quality games for over a year. Grow up will you? It's a games console that will play DVDs and CDs because it can. Sure, Sony have plans but first and foremost it's a games console. IF you want it to be better it's your choice.
> Back to its dreaded visuals: Up against the Gamecube and X-Box, the

Not poor at all against the GameCube. I have seen nothing in the GC's screenies that hasn't been matched in PS2 games finished or in development. As for the Xbox, the graphics are worse than that obviously but not much.
> Sony rely too heavily on Third party support, which has shifted
> to GC/XBOX.
I'll think you find Sony have more in-house development studios than Nintendo, plus loads of exclusive deals. But yes, you're right, the whole ethic of PlayStation is based on third parties, and still is. Apart from a few going exclusive to GC and Xbox, with a few more going multi-format, Sony still have more third parties than the GC and Xbox combined and the figure is steadily rising.
> Most games on PS2 can be found on GC/XBOX.
Most I don't think. "Some" would be more accurate.
> Most people have a DVD player and dont need an extra one.
What's your point? If you don't need it, don't use it. The DVD facility on the PS2 adds absolutely no cost whatsoever onto its production and sale price.
> The Controller is basically no different to its PS1 Counterpart-aside
> from analog controls.
Again, what's your point? The PSone controller is a fantastic little beauty, the Dual Shock 2 is just amazing. Plus, you can play all your old PSone games. In the heat of nostalgia yesterday I bought WipEout 2097, despite me having bought, sold and completed it already.

I seem to be lablled as a Sony zealot, yet I used to own an N64. It works both ways. You don't like the PS2, fine, just don't make stuff up to slander it otherwise you really *are* a Nintendo zealot.
> Compare GC Rogue Leader to PS2 Jedi Starfighter.
What about them? Starfighter's an excellent, *excellent* game, and I'm sure Rouge Leader is too.

Read previous post. Try to find any way in which XBOX could be described as better than GC as a games machine, in realtion to cost and controller. Go.
