"Grand Theft Auto 3 --- Makers being fined"

I have just read in the News paper that Rockstar Games has been fined by the New York public. They say that it was made after the streets of New York and are fining Rock Star games 90,000,000 dollars. What do you think about this?

I'm fairly certain that this is totally fabricated.

They would not be fined $90,000,000 for anything as ridiculous as that.

Similarities of any kind would not warrant anything like this.

When Metropolis Street Racer was made for the Dreamcast, the creators (Bizarre Creations) had to pay London, Tokyo and San Francisco $90 million dollars each.

It's a standard fee.

Didnt they also release a extra London data CD for GTA...why were they not fined then.

I take it Paris will sue them too, for having an area in the game named after districts in Paris, oh and emmm, the area in the original game based on area in Dundee, maybe we should sue them too...........

Why are they only being fined now? Liberty city was the name of the first City on the orginal GTA made back in 1997.

I've been to NYC and trust me, Liberty City far cleaner than NYC therefore nothing like the place.

I'd also feel far safer in LC than NYC.....

Hmmm... dont think so.

I too think it is crazy, but i can assure you that it is the truth. After all the attacks on america, i think that the government just wants to be safe.

I think that is the craziest theing that I have ever heard. How can they sue someone for making a city that looks a little like NYC.
