Earlier today whilst I was having a two player on Pro Evolution Soccer with my brother, he asked me if I was going to get an X-Box. Here is the conversation :-
Brother - Are you getting an X-box?
Me - Why would I want one? I've got my PS2.
Brother - Yeah, but they look good.
Me - If you like them so much, why don't you get one.
Brother - I dunno, I might get one of them or a PS2.
Me - Or you could get a Gamecube.
Brother - What's a Gamecube?
Me - Nintendo's new console, havn't you heard of it?
Brother - No.
Now, my brother is getting on a bit now (17) and most of you will just call him an idiot for not knowing what a Gamecube is, and that's fair enough, or maybe there are more people like him. He doesn't come onto these forums or anything and only goes on the PC to play Championship Manager.
What I want to know is, if he hasn't gone out of his way to look for the next-gen consoles, how come he knows about the X-Box but not the Gamecube?

Well, I've never had to buy a console, as my dad buys them all for me for a birthday or christmas (I'm not spoilt) so we just share them, eliminating all the trivial squabble.

Well, I've never had to buy a console, as my dad buys them all for me for a birthday or christmas (I'm not spoilt) so we just share them, eliminating all the trivial squabble.

Nintendo havent advertised it yet!
MEanwhilse Microsoft have and the best thing Nintendo can do is release the GC before the x-box...

MOW IM not an only child. But seeing as I had to buy my own console. Thats a little different. Like, I saved up for a few months, bought it, bought all my games then my sister thinks she can just walk in and play. I think not.
But MOW if you have been brought up to share, then share all you like.

I can understand ALL relatives, that can be annoying, but I didn't say that, did I? I've had to share everything my entire life, so I'm quite happy to share. Please take no offence, but your opinion sounds to me like that of an only child, which I expect you are.

I'll tell you why. Because Microtosh have a 500 million pound advertising scheme, and Nintardo don't. It's as simple as that.
Meh, But, If I buy a £200 console, then I let all my other relitives play on it like its their console? Thats what gets me annoyed. Like has been said before, I would happily let them if they paied for half, or they bought the games.
They can have a go now and again when im not on it.

It depends on their age. My parents buy me all the consoles, so we just sensibly get along and share. You seem to make it trivial, can't you just bloody share the damn console, regardless of who bought it?

I pay money for my games, and I let my 16 year old brother play them whenever he wants, and that also goes for my DVD's. What's the point of buying two of everything for one household just because you're fussing over a trivial little squabble? I'm sorry, but I don't understand some of you!

I think Nintendo Will want to launch their advertising campain pretty soon. Just about everyone know about the x-Box and hardly anyone knows about the GameCube. A few ad's posters that sort of stuff. Just to get the word of mouth around. Then people may hold put till the GC comes out and then buy it.
