Anyway yep Konami have said that Suikoden 3 will not be released in Europe because there's not enough demand for it or the RPG genre anymore. They said to translate it into all the different languages and what not, they would actually be making a loss if they released it over here so business wise it wouldn't be very smart.
So once again we get shafted thanks to the rest of our European friends. Why on earth can't game developers just give us american translations of games and put it in PAL format? I'm sure most of us would be able to put up with subtle differences in the language if it means, we actually get the game in the first place and we get it quicker, instead of having to wait for a game to be translated into Polish before it gets released all over Europe.
Also their other excuse of there being a small demand for RPG's over here in Europe is just a cop out to me. Are we talking about the same genre where FFX was one of the fastest selling games in the year 2002? If not just what are Konami on about?
To me this is a great shame as from what i hear it was THE RPG of 2002 and once again we get messed about with games releases. Why i keep constantly being surprised about this i don't know as it happens so often but i wish someone would actually recognise the European market to have some importance.
(p.s there's a petition going around on the gamefaqs suikoden 3 board. Find the link for it in a post there and sign it please. Hopefully if Konami do actually see there's enough demand they'll release it over here)
