For me there are a great deal to choose from, being a gamer since way back when we had the spectrum/Amiga and the beloved c64.
Now the list may be long but having playied games way back then for many years, being know as a nerd by school mates cause back then computers were the nerd tools.
Then after school had finnished along came college and back in the early eight's I left computers behind and got myself a life. :)
Three years ago I forked out over £1000 for a top range Pc 850Mhz processor the works, my eye's lit up when I started playing Half-life. My god I said to myself thing's have moved on since the c64 and spectrum days.
This is like being in a movie and for hours on end I would play half-life determined to go that little bit further or suck trying to get throught the maze packed with Voltigores I didn't get much sleep then I can tell you.
Now I have been ranting on about half-life but that is not the greatest game in my opinon oh no.
Half-life is by modern standards a work of art every game produced thease day's is compared to half-life and rated accordingly, we would not have tfc or Counter-Strike if it had not been for half-life.
For shear out right addiction and play-abillity a game which I spent hour upon hour playing and if I dug it out the cupboard and set it up I would spend more hours playing it, the game Manic Miner.
The grand daddy of computer games it had it all shear playing power once u mastered a level the nexted was even more challenging and just as u got to that level u would lose the timing u mastered for the level before.
Now this is my opion u may think I am wrong but forget the fact the graphics are outdated this is not the point, the lasting playabillity of a game is what matter's.
This surley was the most played game ever!!!
