Fell down the stairs and I hadn't even been drinking. Now I've missed a day's training and have a bad leg. My boss has said I shouldn't have driven in to work, but someone else would have to do my 3-11pm shift....hm...

Tae Kwon Do can be used for self defence, but that was not its primary motive and still isn't.

Originally it was created to keep Korean soldiers fit and with a focused mind and body. They learnt self defence in their army anyway.

It has developed through the years and I haven't seen a red or black belt in Taekwondo who can't defend themselves. Perhaps it was a useless class you went to? I've seen multi-style tournaments where the Taekwondo student or master has beaten those of another discipline easily with mostly kicks, even against kick boxers.

As I said, it must have been the school you went to.

Just try cursing at the stairs and yelling at them for like 20minutes. It feels great.

No tae kwon do is the art of self defence. I learned nothing about dealing with a violent situation, useless.

I did it.

Found it annoying, boring, and I was too good for them all anyway.

But if you like it, on you go, enjoy it. :-)
