Here's the problem.

I have a clarinet lesson in around 2 hours. I had a bet with my clarinet teacher that I couldn't learn all my scales by today. The bet involves a substantial amount of alcohol and I can't back out of it... Unfortunately, Withnail and I just popped through the letter box courtesy of SR..

Do I watch "Withnail and I" and sod the scales?
Or do I go and learn my scales and win the bet?

Weak-minded as ever, I await the public's decision...

ah I see what you mean, no I bet that I could learn them all.

I completely mucked them all up, but thanks to the benefits of double or quits I now have an extra week to learn them all, which I shall do, and it's moved from drinks at a pub to crates from the supermarket.

I shall triumph though.

My clarinet teacher's car just pulled up in the drive. My lesson is after 12:00. It's always after 12:00.

What's happening? I have now done neither thing.

*rushes away to go and get dressed and cries "ARGH!" into the distance*

ah-ha, but so do I and "there's the rub"... I'll make my decision at 10.15, as that will leave me enough time to do either one.

umm... too many, it's a grade 7 number of scales. I know half of them. It's just the minor scales and chromatics I need to learn. I reckon I can do it in between half an hour, and an hour.. or I can watch Withnail and I and practise for five minutes before my lesson, and then rely on my short term memory.

Ugh, scales..
