Just spotted a web site that is selling a Jap GameCube that has been modded to play jap and US games! There is a small switch on the back of the machine (which doesn't need any hole drilling in the case) that you flick to effectivley swap the GB beween US and JAP. Flip the switch to US mode and the GC's on-screen menu is in english, it plays all US games and Jap games won't boot - comes up saying CD not compabale. However, flip the switch to JAP mode and the oppoiste is true - jap text for on-screen menu, plays Jap games but not US. And this is like selling for £170!
How good-a-deal is that! A GC that plays US and JAP games, and it cheaper then an official UK machine - as this is expected to retial at £199!
Apparently there are two jumper connectors inside the GC - one is usd or US machiens, the other for JAp machines - all the swicth does is change between the two.
Here hoping that a three way swicth can be added to the UK machine for all region play.
Must admit, thinking of getting a modded machine for £170! They also do the black and orange GC for £185
As a sind note their selling the Panasonic GC, modded to play both US and JAP games, and DVD region free for £320 - amazing!
