This should get you all arguing, my mate (left handed same as me) reckons we have an advantage as our hand/eye co-ordination with our left hand is better than right handed people. Therefore giving us better control over the joystick/directional pad.
Anyone can press fire/accelerate etc no problem.
Does he have a point ? - I think not, you only have to look at my Tricky scores.

well i can beat my left handed friends at counter strike about 8 times out of 10 so i don't think they're more accurate. well in my experience anyway. i think if you've played games for donkey's years (like me) you just get used to playing how you do. i can move around pretty damn efficeintly (sp) both in computer games and the bedroom

I think that maybe left handed people do play differently to us who use our right hands. We're all more effective with the A's, B's, X's and Square's, while they're used to being able to move around very efficiently, with D-pads and joysticks. We may be better for attacks and speed, but they could beat us in terms of accuracy, as they are different to other players we play against. Only 1/10 people are left-handed you know!

Im right-handed and have always been but when I was younger I never liked consoles because I always felt that the controllers were the wrong way round and used to struggle with fighting games requiring button bashing.

8 Years or so on and thats not the case. I am pretty much Ambidextrous but certainly wouldn't like to have to use the button reversed.

I would say it doesnt matter. I've been using pads for ages, so have grown to them. Its the same with anything, practise makes perfect. If you get some body whos never played on a computer and they have to press the buttons, whether there left or right handed they would be equally as bad.

My Dad would never be able to play a game. My mum or dad cant change the TV remote or use the phone buttons with out looking at them. Where as I can reel off a phone number with out looking at it in about the 1/10 th of the time it takes them.

Its all down to practise.

i'm a rightie and it is easier to use the directional pad with your left hand, i tried a strange pad when i was abroad and the directional pad was on the right, it was rubbish.

btw-righties r much better @ games than lefties, and lefties can't even get a girl to prove that they r better in bed!!

lol only joking!
