What do you think is the better graphics card Nvidia geforce 4 MX 460(tv out) or the Nvidia geforce 4 Ti 4200?

the geforce fx on this site looks very impressive yet at £300 its a little too dear for me, the ti is approximately 30% faster than the mx!

I've got my eye on a card now, only £139.99, well withing my price range. Failing that, I'm sure I'll find one under £200, but I'm not planning on getting a new 3D right this minute, having just spent so much this month.

Yeah, the MX is alright for a budget card, but apart from a slight increase in detail, I didn't really see much difference from my old GeForce 2.

Could be because their both PCI card, I don't know, either way I'll be looking to get one of the bigger cards in a few months time, because finally I've got a computer which supports AGP slot.

in equivelants yes but across gpu types no

without out going indepth the mx card has less features for each chipset it uses compared to a similar bandwidth in similar type of gpu

eg gf2 gts 32ddr will beat gf2 mx440

gf4 ti4200 64 will beat gf4 mx460 etc

but it isnt that simple either as clock speeds and benchmark tests vary and benchmark tests in particular assine more value to a card that has extra features but not more bandwidth

eek

for a simplified look at test performances try looking at a good reliable independant tester

ive posted this guys site many times but it is in my opinion the best and most complete site

http://www.tomshardware.com/graphic/20021218 /vgacharts-05.html
take out space after the 8(link to long) spam protection
and he is independant which is a great bonus
