I was walking past Game today and i saw the big "Xbox" pre-orde signs and thought "mmmm, i want one".

Then I realised no, Microsoft, Bill gates! What was I thinking?

What is wrong with me?

I had a U.S xbox since b4 christmas and havnt stopped playing it yet! having said that its one of those consoles where u really need to play it to know for sure if you will want to buy it.

The biggest problem that the uk buyers have is launch day, how can you choose from so many top titles? especially as Dead or alive 3, Halo and Jet set radio future are all essential purchases, and you wil have the added titles such as wreckless to consider. Id start saving now if you havn't already, because this console is great!

On a serious note, if it was a Sega, Nintendo, Atari, etc (ie not Microsoft) I would be well up for it, but it's not, so I'm not up for it. I just worry about Bill Gates getting a foothold and monopolising game platforms. I have been smoking a lot of pot, am I paranoid?

Its not a kick in the teeth. I had my PS2 on launch day, so got all the games then and have had it longer than the people who waited till the price drop. It didnt drop to £200 until late July, which by this time I had already had my PS2 for 8 months.

I'm just going to wait a bit and see if the X Box price drops... like the PS" one did, which was a great kick in the teeth to the original buyers :( If Sony wanted to pass on benefits why didnt they drop the price of games, or peripherals ?

No, because I have pre-ordered a X-Box. Alot of the people on these boards arent biased towards consoles. They buy all of them or just the ones that have the games they want to play.
