We don’t want Microsoft and their icky box-like console we want consoles like the Game Cube and the PS2 which both can kick some serious butt. Although the x-box or sex box as it’s known as now has aimed a few blows at Nintendo and Sony most were direct hits.
Take the signing of Nintendo’s crown jewel for example.
Rare were taken from Nintendo like candy from a baby, they were bought over by that lot called Microsoft. Microsoft have damaged Nintendo so much that Microsoft don’t even deserve the capital letter I have grudgingly put before their name. Rare ware have been a key factor to Nintendo’s success bringing them huge hits along the lines of Goldeneye, Donkey Kong and many more fantastic games. How will poor ol’ Ninty cope without them? Who knows. What I do know is that Rare gave into greed and some Ninty fans may never forgive Nintendo for letting go of their pride and joy. The signing may even have scratched Rare’s 5star reputation somewhat. One thing it won’t have affected though is Rare’s amazing ability to make games. Who knows with all this extra money coming in (weather the money be earned honestly or not is another question) it might help Rare to become even better than before. With the power of the Sex-Box….er sorry I meant the X-box Rare might just do that.
Although I’d be somewhat reluctant to work alongside Bill Gates Rare already seem to be making an impact on the other leading console.
The announcement of Perfect Dark 2 on the Xbox has made many gamers whisper obsessively about the forthcoming game. There’s no doubt about it if Sony had any sense they would’ve put in a bid for Rare as Rare would be a fine asset to have alongside you and would bring you much good fortune. As far as I’m concerned though Micorosft can FOG OFF!!!
Ok enough about Microsoft let’s talk about Sony…
Sony have been a powerful force in the gaming world ever since the launch of the PS1!
Although… Sony have been helped a long a fair bit by huge games like Tomb Raider, Driver and Grand Theft Auto. So what difference can 1 game make to their success? Well a lot actually. Games like GTA vice city have proven just that by rocketing into the charts upon release this made GTA Vice City what must be Sony’s most successful game…ever.
GTA Vice City has been at the top or near the top of the charts since it’s launch just before xmas. If a developer like Sony have hyped up a game enough people might like it enough so that they want to go and buy a console. With the help of GTA VC this must’ve shot their console sales of the chart. I know I want a PS2 with GTA VC and various other games. So Sony may carry on making great consoles and games as normal without the fear of being told to FOG OFF!!!
Lets move on shall we? To where I hear you ask?
Well we’ve talked about Sony and Microsoft so lets talk about the one and only Nintendo.
Nintendo is by far the crown jewel of the gaming world for many many years.
They’ve brought us gamers more joy than you could possibly imagine. They’ve brought us gems like Perfect Dark and stars like Mario. Nintendo really do know how to kick butt.
Nintendo could be called the veterans of the gaming world. They have years of experience and they sure know how to get folk to buy their consoles.
One of Nintendo’s more popular but by no means their best would be the N64. It saw most of these great games and even the Pokemon made an appearance on several occasions. Although the N64 was an awkward cartridge based machine that sometimes made some funny noises and had a tendency to freeze during game play it was a wonderful machine and quite a powerful one at that. It had (as I’m sure you all know by now) a 64-bit processor, which produced some of the most memorable games to date. Sadly this fab machine died out last year but new a brand new console was to take it’s place and boy is it a beast.
It is of course none other than the Nintendo GameCube. We’ve already seen some smashing games on it and hopefully we will see many more. One game we might have seen on it if it weren’t for Microsoft buying Rare would be Perfect Dark2 what a game that would’ve been.
Nintendo aren’t just famous for console they are probably more famous for their handhelds.
Take the Gameboy colour for example. It produced some of the most popular games in gaming history like all of the Pokemon games, which helped boost gameboy colour sales dramatically. Now though people have gone of Pokemon and thus the Gameboy colour is lying in it’s deathbed and will soon be knocking on the door of gaming heaven. Just like all other previous consoles it was to be replaced by an even better one…yup you’ve guessed it. The GameBoyAdvance. The GameBoy Advance one of the most sought after console on the market. We have already had great games like Mario Kart Advance and F-Zero-X Maximum Velocity (both games being a huge hit on the N64) and I’m sure we can look forward to seeing many more great games from this little console (the best things come in small packages right?) and indeed from the Cube as well. So Nintendo have kept me very happy over the years so I won’t be telling them to FOG OFF!!!
All other console makers who dare try and oppose these mighty warriors can just FOGG OFF!! ‘cos let’s face it you don’t stand a chance.
