*takes deep breath*
The camera's wrong, It jerks round corners and has blind spots at crucial places leading to your death (damn shame) The music is TERRIBLE like one of them low budget sci-fi films and the voice acting is like 2 people in separate rooms recording at different times (not in a proper conversation) I bet the actors never even met each other. In first person view it takes FOREVER for the dude to aim where you want to shoot, could have had the L1/L2 button to speed it up but noooooooo.
The controls are again awful, I died many times because X does numerous things at different moments and the rest is as clumsy as they come. Everytime you walk through a door or pick up a file/item there's this irratating fade out screen with a bass twang and arggghhhhhh it WILL get to you. The whole story is sooooooo cheesy, hmmmm plane explosion, forced to parachute, find an abandoned military base or something that they'd never heard of, then all of a sudden start looking for some cindy girl, like hello. Climbing through Vents, Hiding from Cameras, sound familar?? konami won't be too pleased with this game and the sound used for the zombie dogs is a direct copied sample from the cerebuses from resident evil 1, R I P-O F F, I'm talking BIG TIME and what's the deal when you get infected when he drops every 2 secs, hmmm can anyone think of a better way to "pee" off the player, I can't.
There's always a blizzard at the side of the base yet somehow on the heliport (roof) there's a few snowflakes, is that possible?? The characters mouths move like they're chewing hubba bubba not talking and I still don't know what this game was trying to aim for, it's neither freaky, remotely scary or anything. It's just aload of weird things running about the place waiting to be shot oh, maybe they were going for an all out action thing, nah rubbish either way. It took about 40 mins for this game to EVENTUALLY pick up but 2+ hours into it everything but the snazzy visual effects is pure and simple trash, I don't care enough to finish it.
aaaahh, thanks for reading, Hardly worthy of a topic but i just had to get that off my chest, Well back to the saucy babes of fear effect :-)
It;s true that there are a few eratic moments when the camera prevents you from actually seeing what is going on, but this game has some true moments of genius. The sections in the dark are really nerve racking, especially sice you can't really see where it is you have to go. Some f the puzzles are truely unique, and the give the game a challenge that many other games in this genre are lacking.
Extermination is truely one of the most challenging titles on the PS2. It is difficult to judge and balance your resources, and it;s not just the monsters you are fighting. When it gets near the end and you have to start avoiding massive creatures and puddles of virus infected water all whilst completing your mission, you really do learn that some battles just can't be won and that running really is a good technique to master.
I'm getting rid of it today anyhow, Trading Aqua Aqua, Extermination and Fantavision for Grand Theft Auto 3. can't go wrong with that ;-)
> Well they do know about the base, its there mission to get there. It is a bit
> cheesy, but it is an ok game.
Yep.
