I have been unable to download anything for days? I have tried on 2 PC's using windows 98/SE, ME and XP. on one PC i tried a clean install!
I know it's not the most impotant thing in the world but we all know how buggy microsoft software is, so the update helps.
PS I can ACCESS the site but the download/instalation fails, every time.
Alternatively, plonk the kernel on a floppy/CD, boot that and mkdir /screwed; mount someoptions /dev/hdfoo /screwed; rm -rf /screwed/*

Very true..
rm -rf /
It stops about half way through /bin. You're just lucky if you didn't name anything in / that began with an "a" or "b"..
The order is:
Floppy
CD-ROM
hda
First it looks for an MBR on the floppy drive, then from the CD-ROM, then finally your primary master HDD. Booting the HDD before the floppy/CD-ROM would just be utterly pointless.
No, really, what do you mean? I've replaced my kernel before, it just builds the new one and when you boot you boot that instead. Then, if you want to, you just delete the old kernel. That's why Windows requires you to reboot sometimes.
