It is said that men and women are equal in everything and should be treated the same in whatever they do and this is normally true but I have noticed that it is not so equal in the gaming world! I would bet you £100 that most of the games you own have a male main character! This is probably the case because most games are with a male main character and there are only a few games which include a female main character like the Tomb Raider series (new one due to come out this year!). There is also 'Primal' coming out this year which will include a female called Jen who has the power to turn into a demon whenever she wants. The list of my Playstation 2 games do not clearly include a female character! This is my list of games and who the main character is in each one:

Airblade- mostly male characters, a few female characters as well!
Burnout 2- don't really know! (could be aliens for what I know!)
Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex- clearly a male character.
Dynasty Warriors 2- mainly male characters plus all enemies are male!
Fifa 2003- definitely all male characters (some could be women though!)
Grand Theft Auto 3- do I have to say anymore?
Grand Theft Auto Vice City- I don't have to say anything again!
Gran Turismo 3- again, could be alien drivers!
Jak and Daxter- Jak is definitely male, Daxter got a bit of a high voice!
James Bond: Nightfire- Pierce Brosnan is a man- I think!
Medal of Honour: Frontline- it's war so it's a man!
Spyhunter- not sure but the outline on the box looks like a man!
The Getaway- both main characters are male, includes Zoe though!
The Simpson's Road Rage- all characters are male except Marge and Lisa.
This is Football 2002- again it's football so all male players!
Tony Hawk's 3- mainly male characters but a few women here and there!
Top Gun: Combat Zones- I would say male but I could be wrong!

Do you see my point and it is a wonder women haven't complained to make sure more heroines are included in great games such as Grand Theft Auto Vice City or gun games like 007 Nightfire and Time Crisis 2! I am probably certain that there are many more male gamers out there than female ones! This is probably true as boys and men are into five things- 1. Sport 2. Women 3. Pubs 4. Cars 5. Games! These five things are the main diet of most of us men and in the women list games is probably non-existant as women would rather watch a soap or a girly movie or something!

Please could they make more games with female characters as I loved those dodgy camera angles in the Tomb Raider games where the views of Lara's chest were to die for! No game can match those moments of staring in amasement! Maybe a real woman's chest could but no computerised animation!

I hope you have enjoyed reading this as I have enjoyed writing it! Thanks for reading!

Perfect Dark, that's a brilliant game, and yep, Joe Dark leads it.Eternal Darkness, again, lead by a female.

Thats a very general statement to make. Not all girls are like that. Personally I think that whole "ladies first" is a load of rubbish and should have disappeared years ago. Whoever gets to the door first goes through first! Simple. Anyways, it would be nice to have a few more games with female leads in them. Makes for a bit more variety if nothing else when picking characters.

Heres one to ponder about - girls say they are equal to men, and they should be treated equally, but when it comes to unpleasant tasks it's "You do it, I'm a girl" and "Let me through the door first - it's supposed to be ladies first"
Hypocrites.
