Unfortunately I take a more active approach to learning. I have an annoying habit of just "deciding" to learn a language. At the moment I'm learning Linux and Perl through necessity, throwing in at the deep-end stylee.

About seven years ago, my parents got a basic, Win95 PC for the whole family to use. I fidled around with it, not knowing or caring about what I was doing. I just learnt how to use a P.C from there, and eventualy learnt all of the things I needed. I then enjoyed it and I just fell in love with it (Don't get the wrong idea here!). Then I learnt more advanced stuff and developed a huge interest in the computer industry.

Yeah. Deluxe Paint was great, you just made a freaky picture, hit the Tab key (I hink) and it cycled the colours in a psychadelic fashion. Great Stuff. In only half a Mb of memory too.

At last me and Turbonutter agree on one OS that was the best, Workbench! It never once crashed on me.

Amiga 500 and Deluxe Paint 3. Especially the animations - they rocked! You could use a whole 64 colours! (i think or was it 32?!)

Originally, CAD and then the slow progression to Graphic Design (Computers made life much easier than Drawing Baords and Spraymount) And then I progressed to the internet...

My original interest was spawned after my mum bought me a Commodore 16 for Xmas many many years ago!! I must have been about 9 or 10 at the time. I didn't really get into computers until I did my GCSE music over 10 years ago and discovered the power of the Atari ST and electronica (thanks to the Pet Shop Boys).

My current interest spawned after a friend of mine introduced me the the Web and taught me the art of tables, after that, I was hooked...

When I was about 12, I had to go to the dentists to have a tooth removed. Whilst waiting, I read an article about a experimental new network being developed in America. This network would let you access information on the other side of the world at the click of a button, I thought "WOW! I gotta get into that..."

Looking back now, I realise that experimental network was probably ARPAnet or whatever the Internet was back then. Freaky eh?
