Goddamn amazing tune.
There are some class tunes on the album (sidewalk surfer girl, juxtaposed.. no sympathy) but overall its not so immediate as their previous records.
There are a lot more acoustic tracks and 'big band' tracks and the whole album has quite a bitter edge to it.
If you are a fan of SFA, I'd say buy it. If you are new, pick up Radiator. Still, its leaps and bounds ahead of what most bands put out on record, its just I expected something more...
Pre - Everything Must Go Manics did some top B-sides.. Charles Windsor, Wrote for Luck.... but they lost the plot a bit after a while
Dont buy many singles any more...
but my fav b-side of all time is by The Chemical Brothers, its called 'Morning Lemon' makes me laugh everytime and its a top tune too.
Radiohead used to... Talk Show Host, How I made my Millions, Palo Altro.
'The Simple Things' and 'Glad to see You Back Again' stand out.
Mansun had some wonderful 'b-sides' early on, like 'Grey Lantern' and 'Flourella'.
Ash have done some decent b-sides too, with 'Cantina Band' being a cover of the song from Star Wars. They tended to be heavier in their b-sides, less pop, more rock, so they were cool.
Pulp had some cool b-sides too. One that stands out was a song called 'Cocaine Socialism', it basically ripped the tune from one of the songs from This Is Hardcore, but changed all of the lyrics to an attack on New Labour and Tony Blair's attempt to 'Rock the Vote'.
