Right, here is my vote on what all of you think the best game of 2001 was for the PS2.

Here are the choices,

Grand Theft Auto 3
Smack Down : Just Bring It
SSX Tricky
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3
Pro Evolution Soccer
Jak & Daxter
Gran Turismo 3
Devil May Cry
James Bond : Agent Under Fire

Just choose the best out of those and place your vote, let the voting begin!

Dull and predictable but it has to be GTA3.

Nobody can accuse it of being mindless violence - there's so much depth to that game it's scary.

Great vehicle handling, hugely varied missions and hour upon hour of gameplay.

Some excellent games were released last year but this deserves the top spot.

Considering that I've re-started the game another 2 times and I'm still playing it......Grand Theft Auto 3

Pity the votings finished....love to see how many have voted for this.

Grand theft auto 3 was th ebest game in 2001

red faction is a typical example of a good game let down by poor controls

The graphics just weren't enough in Red Faction, The pyrotechnics are incredible, but the animations and characters models are not as smooth as other games.

Funny, me too. Well, I actually bought the game and gave it back, because I did not agree to spend £40 on that game. I regret giving it back because the storyline was fantastic, but I will try to get it again if it goes down in price.

I agree there, I rented Red Faction and I thought that the storyline was brilliant.

I too agree that it would just beat DMC to the vote, but Jak & Daxter is a different game altogether. That is what made my choice difficult. Storylines also make for hard decisions...you can't beat Devil May Cry. Two other PS2 games with great storylines will have to be Half-Life and Red Faction.

Jak & Daxter and Devil May Cry seem equal.

The choice is difficult between the two.

If I had to choose now, I would vote for Jak & Daxter.
