Who saw the new episode of Buffy on Sky1 on Thursday??? I did. But I don't want to go into too much detail to spoil it for people who didn't see it. What did you think of it?? How did you think she'd be brought back to life?? I thought they'd sacrifice someone (maybe they still will??)?? Will Sunnydale ever be the same again?? And did you realise that cuz Buffy and her mum have both died, Dawn was living on her own?? I didn't think you could own a house at that age, or is it a strange American law???

Hes a post I posted in the PS2 longest thread when I was talking to people about Buffy. Contains spoilers for people who dont know the ending of season 5. Its also contains the information that was in the letter in the December edition of the Buffy magazine.
In the end of season 3, Buffy is unconsious due to her having had alot of blood sucked from her by Angel. She is talking to Faith in her unconsious state.
Buffy looking down: "There's something I'm supposed to be doing."
Faith: "Oh yeah. - Miles to go - Little Ms. Muffet counting down from 7-3-0."
Then in season 5 episode 2 a stranger walks up to Dawn, Buffys new sister and says " I Know what you are, you're curd and whey" So theres a link to Buffy. So Buffy is little Ms. Muffet.
Season 5 end episode is 2 years after the season 3 end episode. 730 is 2 years. And in 730 days after being told the count down in her unconsious state Buffy dies.

Buffy is back and that is what matters. Its annoying Giles has left. The musical episode(No 7) should be good. I have the full version from America so will watch it after I was the 42 min UK version. The America version is 50 mins long.
Overall it was a good episode and hopefully it will be a good season this year, like they have always been.
Angel is back next week as well which will be good as thats another great show.

Blatantly not true. Season 8 rocked, now the mystery at the end of that season is truly a decent ending to follow on in future episodes.

When she died before it was because Whedon didn't know if he would ever get the funding for season 2, so it didnt matter. "we all knew she'd be back by the new series" is exactly my point - it was a pointless plot. Repercussions ? From what I hear Buffy is just going to sometimes wishshe was still dead...
As for "stupid but fun", well that should have been the season title for the last series ! Whoever had the idead for "the initiative" in season 4 also needs firing. Season 3 was the last decent season. Quit being a mindless tv viewer eh :)

AS a fan of the series from before it even came to the UK on SKY ( imported video tapes of season 1 ) I thought it was pretty disappointing. Yeah, she's back, but what was the point of killing her only to bring her back straight away ? Fox Mulder's death in X Files was far better, because their was a real sense of loss created for the fans - he was missing for 13 episodes ! It showed what Mulder, as a character, did for the show. Buffy is a good character, but wouldn't it have been better for them to try bring her back only to fail ? Obviously she'd return eventually but in some other way less cliche than some magic cermeony... Buffy's absence for 10 or so episode would have been ideal for bringing in Faith again and adding a bit more depth to existing characters.
Overall...very diappointing... but I forgive 20th C FOX as X Files season 9 is looking wicked, and hopefully the rest of this Buffy season will be much better. Now Friends on E4 was good :)
