There is soem speculations that MAn utd are trying to get di Canio to their side. To me it such a wate of money. I think its time that they start looking for quality defender like Japp Stam. They have spent so much on their atack an it is time to focus on their defence. DO not be like Barcelona still slacking even though they have very excellent players.

Oh right. I only knew who he was when he was at Lazio, just like many others. I remember when he was apparently close to joining Arsenal, maybe a year or two ago??

I meant when he was still playing in South America. United showed interest for him before Lazio signed him.

But wasn't Salas already at Lazio when United showed interest?? I haven't seen Forlan or anything, maybe he could be signed on loan?? I don't think he'll be the next Salas, and when was the last time we signed someone on loan???

Andy Goram was signed for £100,000 till the end of the season, and I think it was that dodgy Frenchman Willian Prunier?? Whatever happened to him???

Thing with Forlan though...

Have you ever seen him play? I'm sure he has a good player, other wise fergie woudnt be interested in him. But it would be fair to say that he woundnt be an instant hit. It takes time for players to settle in, especially when they are coming from south america. Di canio on the other hand should be an instant hit as he has been playing in the premiership for years.

But United did lose out on Salas a few years back when he was playing in SOuth america...are they gonna make the same mistake again...

I agree that Di Canio should not be signed! Forlan is a much better option, and I still think we should also go for Carew as the new no.9. He's surely not really got a serious knee injury, it's just that Fulham and co. don't want to spend loads on a 4th choice striker, or admit that they've turned down the chance of a great signing. But our defence does need assistance, and should be invested in now!! That os if we are to succeed in Europe this season.

I'd have to disagree.

As soon as the Champs league starts again we will be having loads of games. Add Fa Cup into the equation...

I think Di canio will play a good role in our success this season.

just scored today infact...This guy can play in the big stage. He has scored 4 times in 5 games against United. I think he will be very useful, be it from the bench or from the start. To be succesful you need 4 forwards. WIth the sale of cole we need a replacement. I dont see why Di canio shoudnt fill that role...

An Injury to Van Nistelrooy could leave us very weakened, we have been allright so far this season as he remained in top shape. BUt if he were out we would have trouble scoring goals...as we saw against villa...

I doubt Di Canio will be able to get into the team!! His talents will be wasted if he does go to Man U!!
