Hello I have a PC and have not got a clue. I want to make my computer faster, so I am contemplating getting some more RAM.

I have 64 RAM at the moment but it doesnt let me play some games like Operation Flashpoint.

Will adding more RAM make my computer faster?

Will adding Ram let me play these games?

Can You add RAM to any computer? and is it easy to do?

Go on be proud of yourself help those less fortunate than yourself. You will be doing me a big favour, I need youre help.

Open up yer case and look inside. You should see a big (mother)board with several bits sticking out of it. Some will be quite big, some will be... not so big. Look for some RAM. It's about the size of a 15cm ruler, green and has chips on the side of it. You can't miss it really. See how MANY you've got in there and see how many slots there are for it (they should be parallel. Ignore all others). Chances are you'll have two 32mb RAM sticks, and maybe only two slots. You have to take this into consideration when buying more RAM. If you have to remove a stick, always remember the part exchange option if it is available.

Sticking another stick of RAM in your PC is a good way of getting some extra power from your PC, but will not neccesarily make it all that much faster. 64mb is pretty low these days, most PCs come with at least 128 or 256mb.

It is possible however that adding RAM will do little if the rest of the PC is a bit naff, so it'd be an idea to look at the CPU speed too, as if this is only slow, adding RAM will do next to nothing. Most PC games say they'll run on a 450ish processor, but TBH with modern games I wouldnt use anything less than a 750MHz, prefferably a 1GHz or faster.

If your CPU isnt too bad, and your a little strapped for cash, then adding RAM is probably a good idea, though dont expect miracles.

RAM prices are beginning to rise, but the general thought is that prices will drop again soon.
