Got my freeloader today, tried it in my Q.

Using Super Monkey Ball, trying all 3 loading techniques, I got the same result:

Intro loads up fine, but all on-screen text that isn't part of a graphic image has been changed to random characters, ie) "1KK ) _ 0SS'K", nothing worthwhile.
Then on the screen where you chose to play the game or go to the options menu, I press A, and the screen goes black, with a very quiet bleep noise, and won't respond to anything.

Tetris Worlds is similar, cutting out after a few intro screens.

Burnout worked fine :^)

And that's all I've tried so far.

Any solution? Anyone found anything similar happening?
Any help at all?

It's not so bad, my Q can run Jap and US, my Blube can run Pal, and even if I could run everything on my Q, I wouldn't sell my Blube. Anyway, the paint job is slightly imperfect around the Ati badge and the open button's not as smooth as pre-paint, so some may see the paint job as a negative, rather than a very cool positive quality.

Anyway, help :^)

I can help you with the freeloader query.

Always use boot method 3. Now if the game crashes, take out the power lead from the back of the computer, put it back in again, and try again. I usually find this clears up the problem.

Also, when freeloader has booted and you are putting the game disc in, close the lid very slowly and gently.

Nope. NTSC-UK say it doesn't support RGB, I'm afraid.

Anyway, someone help me with my freeloader :^)

I remember reading that the Q doesn't support some signal format though, back before I bought it. It was either RGB or VGA.

Might go take a look, and post back here if I find out...

I believe I have v1.6

And for my Q I've only ever used the standard composite lead (red, white and yellow), as my tv only runs black and white ntsc signal, so needs to run through a converter.

Still, I'd usually opt for scart. Just because it's high enough quality that anything better is only a minor improvement anyway. (Obviously that depends on the limitations of your tv).

While you're here Ducky, what's better, an RGB cable or a scart lead? And will it work with the Q?
