"Memory card why?"

If the Xbox has an 8GB Harddrive then why do you still need a memory card? The only thing I can think of is so you can save to the card and go to some one else’s Xbox to use there. However the memory card should be optional and you should be able to save on to the Harddrive. So why can you not do this? Is it just because microsoft want another £30 from every one or is there a good reason?

Huh, do you mean you can rip a CD to the Hard Disk and then use the music to have playing in game? If you do then yes you can and no you cant. The game has to support the option to do so, and I think Project Gothem is the only game that I know of that supports it.

Not realy. I can't c y there r 2 ports in the handset though. So far the only things you could put in them r a mem card and gcomander. unless big M have got other stuff planned

Iam pretty sure of it. I can have a look around and see if they mention it. I have pre-ordered my X-Box and dont really want to get a Memory card on launch as I dont know anyone near to me whos getting a launch machine, so have no need to share data. But if you need it for some of the games i'll have to get one.

so you can save your game data on to the harddrive then?

Yeah, all it's used for is transferring data between XBoxes. It's not really a requirement, unless of course, you have XBox owning mates.
