This bloody trailer of yours better be good!

I'm STILL downloading it, about a WEEK after I started. IT's probably only about 30 seconds long as well....

Grrrr!

Still, only about half an hour to go.....

*sigh*

*Trying not to surf too much as it slows down RealCockUp- sorry, RealDownload.*

Blatent pop.

There are a few things I'd like to get off my chest.

1) I hate the lightsaber Darth Sheepy is holding. It's really, really crap. For a better idea of how they'll look in the finished anim, look at the front page of the website. It comes up too slow too.

2) I really shouldn't have put the second piece of the checkered blocks in. It's crap. The camera angle screws half way, and really messes up the feel of it.

3) Darth Sheepy walking down a corridor... far too long. Should have been cut by several seconds.

4) Anyone noticed that the stars never move in the trailer? :0)

5) "This is not Star Wars" Predictable pap. Originally was going to be either "Flash", for those who wondered why I wasn't doing a much easier Flash animation... :0), or "Easy", which I liked very much personally. :0D Kept with Star Wars because it felt right at the time, and for another reason explained later.

6) The computer screens in Darth Sheepy's walk are yellow, and look awful. They should have had proper screens on them, and I'm sorry about that.

7) FM in the X-Wing, just after zooming around the four chairs... it's far too slow. He should have been further back to begin with, been just as long, time wise, but travelled more distance.

8) Sniper is completely emotionless when he dies. Probably true to real life, but seems to be missing the edge that perhaps it needs.

9) The mountains are too edgy.

10) The grey background to the bridge scene does not do it justice at all... it was a last minute change, and really should have been put as a much darker colour, with windows and stuff to show stars in.

11) The planet in the bit before "Star Wars"... it wasn't supposed to be blue. It was going to have a bit of green and brown in it, and be bump mapped. I got lazy. I'm annoyed.

12) The way Grix runs in the first black and white checkered bit is a bit camp. It's supposed to be inside his brain, and therefore everything is supposed to be a little dreamy. As that's not made too clear, it looks a bit suspect.

13) The Swordspines bit at the start is crap too. I'm working on a better one, but it's taking a lot of work.

14) On the second spiral around the four chairs, where Grix is mouthing something... pause it. Look at Sniper's, the bald one on the right's, knees. Thank God you can't see it when it's moving.

On the good side, however...

15) The reflections at the start are excellent. :0D

16) Watch the shadows in the first spiral around the four chairs... you hardly notice it, but it's great. They kinda begin to travel further out towards you as the sun sets, and it looks pretty cool... once you see it. :0)

17) The timing of the planet/words thing is perfect, I think. Not only do they occur in exactly the right time, but also happen in the right places, forcing your eyes to use the whole of the screen.

18) The first checkered scene is probably going to be the best camera use I'll ever do. :0)

19) The cut from the X-Wing to the first checkered scene will probably be the best cut I ever do, too. :0)

20) The music, although perhaps also a bit predictable... I like. :0)

I was actually going to use Star Wars music to go over the trailer... The plan was, to use the Propellerheads song to make the trailer, to give it a beat, and then lay quiet and smooth Star Wars music over it to give it a surreal edge to it. It worked excellently, and I loved it... but I suspect that everyone else wouldn't, and kept the Propellerheads track in the end.

And that also explains the "This is not Star Wars" bit too... would have made a lot more sense. :0D

Grix, I'm going to start downloading tonight, I've already had to download annoying Spyware DAP, just to make sure I can resume, but it sounds good so I'll go for it...

This will officially be the largest thing I have ever downloaded, just ahead of the IE6 update.

"Erm, not that my opinion probably matters at all to you, after all the hardwork you've put in, but.... that was fantastic!"

Hell yes! Thanks! Excellent!

"Well worth the HUGE download."

Cool, tell others.

"That's just..... well impressive, unbelieveable! How long did it take you to do it?"

Hmmm... let me see. Some of it was crafted especially for the trailer, and some of it was already made before I started it. But from the start to finish of making the trailer, coming up with ideas, about two weeks.

"Wow."

Thanks again.

"Sorry, I'm just writing down words as the come into my head!"

No problem.

"How did you get the acton to fir the music?"

It's amazing how linear some things are... some of it was pure luck, by me doing things in fives and tens, and others were done by shortening other pieces. I desperatly wanted the first black and white dive to be on that piece, and the X-Wing speeding off before it on another.

"You know the whole film will be about 500 Gig, don't you?"

Yup. It's taking up over a gig, through edits and reedits on my harddrive already.

"When's it ready? How much more have you done? When can I download some more?"

There are three other pieces there at the moment that don't really reflect it as a whole, but I'm already thinking about the next trailer to be put up.

"Man, that was good."

"I liked it."

Thanks. :0D
