In a brief press conference today Sony announced that the Playstation 3 will be released late in 2004 in Japan and USA, with a European launch said to be around 2006.

The only details about the console itself was that it would have wings.

Without any knowledge of specifications it's hard to say how much of an improvement on the Playstation 2 it will be, but Jacko from Brush Strokes, AKA the bloke from the flash adverts speculated that it could be 'thousands' of times more powerful.

We don't yet know anything at all about the look of the console but that it will have wings. This has lead to much speculation that it could also fly, or at least glide. The Asian Price had the following to say "A flying console would really appeal to the bad-boy in me. I can see myself flying on it now, stopping when I see a princess to run my vibrating hands through my thick hair."

When asked whether the PS3 announcement would take away a little from the excitement of the PS2, Maketup Buncholies of SCEE said "Metal Gear Solid 2."

Yes Meka it is funny but I plan to top it with some entirely ficticious gamecube news.

No man, you just don't get it.

Half of the things in this post are 'in jokes' most people won't get it, and they're not supposed to.

I'm posting here not to win games (though it is nice) but because I enjoy the banter, even though it makes me ache because of so many big belly laughs.

You can't insult me like that I'm afraid. I'm above it.

I would buy a game, but I got a few for Christmas that I'm quite content with at the moment.

Therefore anyway everyone will say yes, but please get out there and buy a game instead of sitting behind a PC talking junk about them and occasionally winning one.
