Ive pre-ordered "State of Emergency" so Im as much of a hypocrit as everyone else, but how can you say that this game is amazing etc. if it hasnt even been released yet?
You can't go wrong with State Of Emergency & Half-Life. Personally I'd go for State Of Emergency.
One game to look out for is REZ. It's gonna be an original classic.

If you're looking for a FPS, get agent under fire. If you don't mind, wait for Wipeout Fusion or Rez, both are great.

get half life, it's amazing
I own half life for the PS2 and its a great game if you havent already played the pc version, you could hold out for SOE, its tough but i would wait for SOE :)
